Nicole Quarles, MFT Associate, treating clients in OR and MA
I work with individuals and couples who, due to emotional neglect or neurodivergence, struggle to express themselves, set boundaries, and build deep, secure relationships.
I specialize in working with thoughtful, capable adults who avoid difficult conversations, feel anxious in their relationships, and struggle to access or express their emotions. Many of my clients grew up needing to be self-sufficient — attuned to others, but disconnected from their own needs. Therapy with me focuses on helping you feel safer having honest conversations, understand your emotional world, and experience connection without losing yourself.
Do you…
Avoid difficult conversations until they feel unavoidable
Feel responsible for keeping things calm, smooth, or “fine”
Struggle to ask for what you need without guilt or overthinking
Worry that expressing your feelings will disappoint, overwhelm, burden others, or ruin your relationships?
Do you…
Understand your patterns intellectually but feel disconnected from your emotions
Get stuck in your head, replaying conversations or imagining what you should have said
Feel anxious in relationships, even when nothing is “wrong”
Struggle to name what you’re feeling — or feel flooded when emotions finally show up
Do you…
Feel like you’ve come a long way, yet still carry a sense of inadequacy
Minimize your needs because others had it worse, or needed you to be “easy”
Feel unseen or alone even in close relationships
Wonder why success, insight, or achievement hasn’t brought the relief you expected
